My fine art landscapes are characterised by their use of long exposure techniques to reduce distractions, revealing bold yet minimalist renditions of the scenes I capture. I return to locations in different conditions: weather, tide, season and time of day all contribute to the infinite range of possible images that can be captured from a particular composition.
I am fascinated by the effect of the passage of time and elements on structures, especially boats. I also look for shapes, textures and colours in the rocks I find at the coast. Reminiscent of abstract paintings, these photographs are perfect for injecting interest and colour into your interior decor.
My Nether Wood project seeks to convey an emotional response to a poisoned and scarred landscape near me. The remains of ancient and more recent lead mining is being reclaimed by nature.
Often using camera motion and techniques intended to blur, these images can evoke a sense of place, even when that place is largely obscured.
